Loaded with deeply nourishing ingredients, these raw cacao truffles were created by Holistic Nutritionist, Alle Weil, with the intention of supporting a woman anytime in her cycle --though anyone regardless of gender can enjoy! With the taste of a cross between dark chocolate and gingerbread, they are deliciously indulgent, yet completely guilt free. Think of them as your daily multi-vitamin meets all your PMS cravings. 

pumpkin seeds // full of healthy fats, omega 3’s and 6’s as well as zinc, iron and other minerals, pumpkin seeds support, hair, skin, and nail health and hormone production.

cacao // contains high levels of bioavailable magnesium, sulfur, antioxidants and the mood-boosting chemical compounds, phenethylamine, anandamide, serotonin, and theobromine. 

goji berries // prized in Traditional Chinese Medicine for aiding in overall health, longevity, and energy, goji berries are rich in antioxidants, protein, and over 20 different vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, C, selenium, and iron.

ashwagandha // also known as Indian Ginseng, ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb - meaning it enhances the body’s own adaptive response to stressors and helps to balance the body’s functions. It is known to relieve stress, anxiety, pain, and swelling, and reduce inflammation as well as calm the nervous system. 

 

 

BALANCING PUMPKIN SEED TRUFFLES

makes approximately 20 truffles

 

2 cups Pumpkin Seeds 

½ cup Cacao Nibs

½ cup Goji Berries

4 pitted Dates

¼ cup Molasses

¼ cup Cacao powder

1 teaspoon Ashwagandha

½ teaspoon Camu Camu powder

1 teaspoon Cardamom powder

½ teaspoon Himalayan Pink Salt

Additional cacao powder optional for assembly.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

In a food processor, pulse and process pumpkin seeds until they form a fine powder and begin to hold their shape when formed. 

Add cacao nibs and continue to pulse until broken down. Add goji berries, dates, and dry ingredients and process again until all ingredients are well combined. Add molasses and process until well blended. 

Using a tablespoon measure, scoop mixture and roll into balls with your hands. Roll into cacao powder and sprinkle salt if desired. 

Store in the fridge and enjoy.
